  • The first halfway house in Southern New Jersey, the Hendricks House, established in 1993, is located in Cumberland County.
  • The facility began by providing 16 male beds to individuals recovering from alcoholism.

Since that time, Hendricks House, Inc. has grown to 74 male beds and 34 female beds in Cumberland and Atlantic Counties.

Hendricks house, inc. is licensed by the Department of Human Services and is contracted with the Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services as a Fee For Service provider.

They are also contracted with the eight southern New Jersey counties to provide substance use disorder treatment for their indigent residents in need, with Mutual Agreement Program, Drug Court, Work First, South Jersey Initiative, and DUII.

To meet the ever increasing need for halfway house services in Southern New Jersey, Reynolds House, adjacent to Hendricks House, opened its doors as an expansion facility, increasing their Cumberland program to a total of 40 male beds.

Federal Poverty Guidelines for 2023

These numbers above represent 100% of the Federal Poverty Rate. In order to get legal aid from some offices, they use a sliding fee scale. When they use a sliding fee scale, the 100% rate can be different than 100%. In those cases, using for example a 200% federal poverty level, you will only need double the 100% number listed above to 200%.
